You knew the child
The young sibling With curious eyes And fire lit dreams Who sat up at night Still naive to the world Yet to know The clock is always ticking Ticking away moments Away memories Away childish things But you lost him along the way Branches split And now a man Weathered Rough With eyes that have narrowed From experiences you know not As these are his The sum of what makes him Drives him To be everything more For what grows around him. © 2017 Chilson, Joshua |
