Secret Darkness

I drag it behind me, that skeleton

It's heavy, but I ignore it

It's loud, but I close my ears

It bites my shoulder, and I'm forced to feel it

I hold it in my throat, that frog

It's concealed, but I can't speak

It's sweet, but rots my mouth

It clings to the walls, and I can't get it out

I feel it encasing my heart, that cancer

It's numb now, and I think it's over

It crushes my very being

Until, You crush it, make it vanish,

And hold me again

I have a feeling this is about dark secrets that we never want anyone to know about.
But in a way it resembles a secret love we are afraid to express to that one person we have fallen in love with.

I like the tone and places you took the reader.

Cancer of action and bad deed must be overcome. We can see the light when the darkness steal the light. I did like the ending. Left the reader with some kind of hope. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
