a trivial, tedious clock

A Poem by Philip Gaber

a trivial, tedious clock

She thinks it’s so sad that he only sits around reading and watching TV all day.

“Why is that sad?” he says. “It’s what I’ve wanted to do since high school!”

She thinks he should be around people more.

He says he’s not interested in being around anyone.

She sighs and retracts.

Then, a final dig. “I hate who you’ve become,” she says as she walks into the kitchen to water her plants.

Ouch what a vicious dig. Thank you for sharing this. I imagine you take all your delectable snippets, poetry and stories and make a film of it. Not sure how that would look, but I bet you would have a vision. I read your biography as well and I am seeing how this could tie in.

I hate writing biographies. I was one of those kids who rode a banana seat bike and watched Saturday morning cartoons and Soul Train. But my mother would never buy any of those sugary cereals for us k.. more..
