say what?

say what?

A Poem by Philip Gaber

seems that much of what has been said is repeated because someone didn’t like how it was said the first time, so they had to say it the way they thought it should have been said. Besides, people die, forget, fall asleep, go into comas, don’t read, stop believing, and no longer pay attention, so it’s easy to say something even though it’s been said a billion and a half times before. Even what I just said has been said before and I’m sure whoever said it first or last,
It seems that much of what has been said is repeated because someone didn’t like how it was said the first time, so they had to say it the way they thought it should have been said.

Besides, people die, forget, fall asleep, go into comas, don’t read, stop believing, and no longer pay attention, so it’s easy to say something even though it’s been said a billion and a half times before.

Even what I just said

has been said before

and I’m sure whoever said it first or last,

said it even better than I just said it.

In fact, you’re probably saying to yourself right now,

“I could have said that,”

and I’d say you’re right,

you could have said it.

You probably have said it.

You may have even said what I said

and said it on your blog and

now, other people are saying to themselves

“I could have said that,”

just like you said to me.

So the next time somebody says something

and you’re thinking nobody’s ever said

anything like that before, just say to yourself,

“Well, it sounds like he’s said all he’s going to say

and now that that’s all said and done, ’nuff said.”
