My Mom

My Mom

A Poem by Devan McKinley

Cancer is a scary word.

And an even scarier life.

Never knowing what comes next,

Or how hard you'll have to fight.

I can't even imagine.

Being in her situation.

Weeks of chemo,

and constant radiation.

But from my heart,

I know she will survive.

She's stronger than she realizes,

and can handle this thing called life.

She is tough.

She is bigger than she'll ever know.

She pushes through things

that other people don't.
