You're Not On Your Own

You're Not On Your Own

A Poem by Devan McKinley

There are some days,

I'm sure,

When even the sun doesn't want to shine.

Ever notice the clouds?

And there are some days,

I'm sure,

That even crickets don't want to chirp.

Ever notice a summer night without sound?

I'm sure that someday,

At some point,

You will have that day.

Where evrything that happens,

Just won't go your way.

And even if you want to scream,

Or run away to be alone.

Remember this one and only thing.

You are never on your own.
