Talking to the Moon

Talking to the Moon

A Poem by Devan McKinley

I'll sit up and tell the moon,
All about me.
And all about you.
I'll ask it if our stars have crossed again.

I try to make myself move on.
A few months pass,
And the next ones gone.
I'm trying to find that love in other men.

I thought I felt it once before,
But silly me,
I saw much more,
Than what was ever there-he's nothing.

We're both young and a little scared,
But we always knew and are aware,
That no matter what,
We'll be something.
