Bye-Bye!

Bye-Bye!

A Poem by Devan McKinley

I tried to rekindle our flames.
I used every breath on those coals.
But as more time passes by,
I enjoy watching it turn cold.

You will never feel again,
Feel the warmth that I've rebuilt.
I hope when reflecting on this year,
You heart sinks heavily with guilt.

I naturally seek the best in people.
I believe there's good in everyone.
But after years of disappointment,
My hope for you is gone.

I've let go of you.
Every toxic bit.
There's no way to say this kindly,
But,
You're just a piece of s**t.
