Vogue

A Poem by Devan McKinley

I'll be in the front row talking business with Tom Ford.

Watching the latest fall line while champagne is being poured.

Scents of Chanel and Armani fill the air.

Now I understand when Daddy told me life's not fair.

You can ignore your passions for a paycheck and a roof over your head.

But when you turn the lights off, your dreams follow you to bed.

If your alarm sounds in the morning and you don't feel like getting up,

Just remember each new day is a chance to get unstuck.
