PLaying Hard to GetA Story by KimPlaying Hard to Get Every man likes a little chase if it’s done the right way. But done the wrong way and it could spell disaster. You want to keep him playing the old cat and mouse game, but you don’t want him to think that you are not interested. It’s a balancing act as hard as walking on a tight rope with a juggler on your back and a lion tamer under foot. Like the circus folk you are going to need to know what moves will keep him coming back for more. And lucky for you I have family members who are employed by the circus, so I can outline a phenomenal balancing act that will give your guy the chase he needs with the attention he deserves. Sit back and forget about the bearded lady, this lesson is all about balance. Step 1: Don’t Be a Leech “Give me some space girl, give me some space.” You want your man to think you like him, but you don’t want him to feel like you are glued to his arm and never letting go. Have you ever had a leech on your body? It’s annoying and awkward and you will do just about anything to get the dumb thing off. Do you really want your man to feel that way about you? The answer is no, so it is essential that you give him a warm smile and an occasional kiss, but keep the constant phone calls and date planning to very low minimum. You want to see him but you don’t need to be attached to his body sucking the very life out of him. Step 2: Just Say No So he asked you to meet him at the bar for drinks and you really want to go…but playing hard to get means saying “no” even when it’s hard. The key to this maneuver is this. You have to say “no” once in awhile to the casual meet and greet. But, always give a follow up call within a few days to see if he had a good time without you. That way he doesn’t feel ditched but intrigued. He will hang up the phone wondering why you were a no show but cared enough to call. And now ladies and gentleman the mouse has taken the bait! Step 3: Forget The Call Back Never, never call him back right away. If it’s a little chase your man is after he will understand the delay in your response time. Give it a day or two before you follow up on a message he left you. Just remember, you do have to call him back within the same week or the chase will be over and he will move on. A good move here is to let him ask you out for a date on Friday, but call him Saturday and tell him you are sorry but you have been so busy. So you missed the date and he might be annoyed, but if you end the call with a little frisky flirting, he will bounce right back into intrigued. Balance, my good friend, balance! © 2010 Kim |
