Remember

Don't take anything for granted..like life

Hastily the water accelerates as it flows over the waterfall
Smashing on the rocks below with such intensity
Hypnotized by the sound of the water as it flows effortlessly
Mesmerized watching the water swiftly move along the river
Losing track of time, unable to move, to breathe
Just as life, quickly passes us by, forgetting all that we are
Devastation faced causes us to stop, breathe and glance around
Loved ones left to watch over us instead of share life with us
Life moving so swiftly we have forgotten all that is important
Simple pleasures get noticed, the smell of fresh cut grass
The sounds of children laughing, the love shared with another
The smiles that tell us we are loved, wanted, noticed, special
Instantaneous at high speed the memories of times past flood the mind
Penetrating through the emotional barricade with such intensity
Hypnotized by the sounds of their expression and moments of laughter
Mesmerized as moments flood your mind, flashing before your eyes
Losing track of time, unable to move, to breathe
Emotion swells in your eyes, heart, mind, until it can't take anymore
The barricade breaks and the tears flow just as quickly as the river
Release escapes you, your breathless yet thankful for being alive
