Climbing Mountains

Climbing Mountains

A Poem by Chi Nichole

We all have mountains to climb and just not enough time. Though we climb we forget where to.
You're climbing to find you.
You've been gone now for what seems like a century, but I continued on.
Now look what it took to carry this baggage on.
I'm hurting the ones I love all for something that won't happen next.
This feels like a game of chess.
Still climbing the mountain we all climb to set ourselves free. Little did I know we weren't meant to be.
Now after the mind I have sought. Look at the pain it has brought.
Still climbing with stones in front of me. It feels as though I am off doing a dirty deed.
Climb your mountain they say. To do what? Fight all the demons that won't go away?
I guess I'm still climbing a mountain very tall. Hoping that once I get to the top I will not fall.
