My weakness

My weakness

A Poem by Created Unfinished
"

This is a poem inspired by the series, "Crank".

"
They said you were my weakness.
That what I did was because I could not leave without you in my arms.
Still I carried you through the days,
as your love transformed into something that looked much too close to addiction.
What they saw was only through slits in my composure and wounds I couldn't hide.
Still I carried you through the days,
even those where you held a hand but not mine.
They said I helped you learn to live off another.
That you abused because I lent you my body as if I was a sculpture for you to mold.
Still I carried you through the days,
even when you said those words that cut down deep, down deep into my soul.
They said I would regret leaving you.
That my own addiction wasn't just love.
Still I would carry you just one more day,
even I was surprised how my arms felt when your weight was gone.
If they said you were my weakness,
I would say that you had made me strong.

This really provoked thoughts in my mind... When we lend our heart and our whole life in someone's hand we don't care about tomorrow, we care about today... We get attached to them, we love them deep which is more deeper than an ocean but when they start going away from us that moment we realize how much we depended on them, but their departure also teaches how to be strong on our own, even though people say we were addicted to them... This is really a fine piece of poetry....

It will never matter what they say when it comes to feelings of intensity. Clearly those are held here. What a wonderful write. Love the last two lines in particular.
