Have A Heart

Have A Heart

A Poem by c.m.
"

Weird...but so am I

"

My love stands tall with arms at the ready

His coat pocket stained, a scarlet drip

Eyes caught deep in the still serious waters

Plump lips kept straight on a quivering chin

I touch my love's cheek, other hand placed in his

His fingers gently skimming his inner pocket

He kisses me a soft brush, hand taken from his face

A bleeding pulse dropped heavily in my palm

"Have a heart" comes a low moan from lips

My indian giver returning all but my tears

His eyes fall short to another soft brush of lips

Placing my hand atop the heart, steps in my ear

Pins from my hair stabbed deep within

heart placed atop my shoes so lovely neat

Security man gives a chuckle and a grin

"Have a heart, dear" chimes the old lady

I'll agree with Corey in that it is a little surreal, as the meaning escapes me :(

I'm able to pick out glimpses of the underlying theme, but that is all. The descriptions are quite nice. Not sure how to interpret all of them, but the fact that you are able to provoke that in the reader (maybe only me - lol) is a good sign.

I did not like the overuse of the word "hand" in the 2nd stanza.
btw...Are you missing a word in the 2nd line of the 2nd stanza? Seems disconnected to me.

Well done.

I loved it, especially the last two stanzas. It creates a very pretty picture, like the ones you see in a blockbuster romantic movie lol. I loved it and I say that over and over again.

Crazy good, a little surreal and those last two lines are very Twin Peaks like. I liked this one, a little like a murder mystery in a poem.
