Today, I Love YouA Poem by c.m.I am such a sap....I missed you today and thought of you often The clock telling me, “a little longer” in ticks I remembered your jokes and laughed at you often And I could picture you laughing at my side
So let me cling to you a little longer With my head cupped by your shoulder blades So let me smell you just a while longer Inhaling the clean scent of your neck and hair
I thought today of how days are numbered like pages How seasons change, but then time is up and it’s a memory I thought today of how love can be measured in pages Can I write you a novel just to prove it so
So let me stare at your smile a little longer I’ve yet to count every line of your laugh So let me study your eyes a while longer I’ve yet had the time to savor the dusty clouds
I thought today of the love I have for you So hush while I tell you in orchestrated word I thought today of the love I have for you So hush and read my gift of words © 2010 c.m.Author's Note
