When It Rains...A Poem by c.m.Some days, the thought of you is all that carries me through. The thunder claps, ringing in my ears; A reminder. The lightning strikes, flashing in my eyes; A blow to the chest. The clouds roll in, The showers begin to pour. The sorrow returns.
Trees' branches wrap their trunks, Escape the cold, harsh winds. The flowers bend their heads, Sorrowful. The grey clouds show no silver lining.
The melodic dripping of the rain; Beautiful. The droplets hitting water previously fallen; Painful.
No shelter in this downpour; Shelter in your arms; warm, strong. I bury the thought deep.
No port in the storm; Your body my port in this storm; Wake up dearest.
Faces of sad ones pass, Thinking my smile queer. Beauty can thrive in this wasteland,
For I carry the sun. © 2010 c.m.Author's Note
