BeautifulA Poem by c.m.For someone special, who is beautiful in every sense of the word.I watch you with eager eyes, Committing each feature to memory. Your spine's curve creating a mountainscape from the ground, Rising and falling; breathing slowly.
Your eyelids tinted slightly darker than your olive skin, Your lashes long and soft, black. Your hazeled eyes speak to the soul. Your cheekbones placed delicately; Your lips curve into a smile, A smile to rest the worried mind of a young girl.
But beauty and skin are not one in the same, Though you clearly do not lack the beauty of skin.
You have the beauty that lasts, As age steals the beauty of most. Wrinkles appear, hair grays, bodies become worn; Once gorgeous, perfect. Your facial beauty will fade like so many others; Even the looks of an adonis must fade. But as your youth slips and age sets in, You beauty shall radiate still.
The beauty of your loving heart, Much too large, very much open. You heart, where mine has taken refuge.
The beauty of your gracious soul, The color of light; blissfully shining. Your soul that opens my eyes and arms to you.
The beauty of your stunning words, Written with the softest touch; the greatest skill. Words of gentle love that emit kindness.
Your beauty has created love for you, Divine, but not at all understood. Love, you will be beautiful always, Regardless of the look of your face. © 2010 c.m.Author's Note
