Time...A Poem by c.m.Inspiration struck me...time can be cruel.Time's cruel ways sicken me, Everyday, I age, but sadly, You do as well. Time works against me, Pulling you further and further From my stretched and waiting arms.
Minutes seem hours with us, Hours seem years. Days fade into heartless nights. I don't want to let sleep take me, Don't want to let more time pass.
As leaves change and fall, Giving way to the snow's dance. Snow melts as the sun shines once more Revealing my feelings and lost time. But seasons change, love; Sadly, as do we.
No way to slow you down, No way for me to catch up.
I try desperately to rid myself of youth. Maybe bathe it away in summer's sun; Tuck it away in the leaves of the fall. Bury it deep in the winter's snow; Hide it in the flower fields of the spring.
Love, promise me you'll wait, I promise to hurry. I'll catch up to you one day,
Even if only in the skies. © 2010 c.m.Author's Note
