lullabies.A Poem by c.m.and tonight all I'll get is some voicemails and pictures as your hands barely graze my hips, molded to yours. fingertips flashing all too real in my dreaming mind, feeling the weight of those blue eyes on my flushed cheeks. and tonight I'll let my heart take shelter in your collar bones, snuggling close against your quickened pulse in your neck. beating with yours, breathing with yours, softly; another thing too much in common for normality. and tonight my lips will make love to the cold air, as if yours were to hang gently above them in the dark. tasting and memorizing every line, filing it in memory, in the little section only of you, like what you eat. and tonight I'll breathe in the faint ghosts of your smell, crawling across my pillow to fill my searching lungs. mumbling incoherently of the way your chest cradles my cheek, making wishes for your happiness on every counted sheep. tonight, I'll make love to your memory.
