I miss you

I miss you

A Poem by Bryttnie C.
"

What happened to my brother.....

"
I can't handle being the eldest.
You always did it so well.
Making sure we were all ok.
always being by my side.

When we used to sit at the bus stop,
you made sure I had my sanity.
With the two stepsisters and the father,
I was only sane when you were there.

We stuck our ground.
No one could knock us down.
We stood for what was fair.

Since then you have changed,
We were best friends,
You were my heart and soul.
You knew me and I knew you.

What happened?
I miss you.

You made me cry with this one. There's one line that confuses me:
"With the two steps and the father" OH! never mind, I get it. I if I'm getting the gist of this correctly, I think you can make this line more clear and powerful.
Otherwise, this is perfect and I wouldn't change a word. It's heartfelt, honest and strikes a nerve. Bravo.

The heartache of growing apart as we get older. Takes a special relationship to hold it together, or at least someone who is willing to make the effort. Great nostalgic stroll and social comment about the lives of siblings. Nice writing.
