For BebonangA Poem by ChetA poem I wrote for a friend when her husband passed away.I stood in the night,
A million billion stars came out, To welcome my friend A cold wind blew, And one star shone brighter than all, It warmed my heart. I showered the night, With my grief, While warm memories flow over me. How can I laugh and cry, In the same breath? Peace can be so hard to find. A lifetime it seems, Is not nearly enough time, To do everything. Your name is written in my heart, Your soul is imprinted in me, How can I be lonely with you still here? As the sun peeks over the horizon I say my goodbyes, As the stars twinkle out, As the colors of the world returns bright and new. © 2013 Chet |
