Outsider

Outsider

A Poem by Chesney W.

I'm so different.

They tease me because of my difference.

My insecurities.

My faults.

I don't need the constant reminder of who I should be,

Who I am "supposed" to be.

I am who I am.

But I feel so alone.

There are so few like me where I'm from.

So I keep my true self hidden unless I'm with those people.

It's a daily struggle to be who everyone thinks I am.

I'm not really the shy quiet gir who spends all her time studying.

If you really knew me,

you'd know that I am loud,

my imagination is vivid,

I love writing,

and music is my life.

Because of the constant teasing,

I'm afraid to show people the real me,

I'm such an outsider...
