The LightA Poem by Chesney W.sometimes we just feel down and feel like we're nothing... and there is always someone who cares enough to help us through it all...I'm on my knees. The chains are too tight, cracking my every bone.
I scream, but make no sound. I cry, but shed no tears.
I look down, my heart slowly beats in front of me, veins hardly attached.
My chest is burning. My lungs are collapsing. It hurts to breathe, it feels like knives stabbing me a million times.
It's hot, like a volcano, my skin is bubbling.
I look up, it's all black and white, and my vision is blurry.
I see a bright light. A figure appears, almost human-like, walking at a steady pace.
I realize it's you.
You come nearer, reaching your hand to me, you lift my head, your fingers cold as ice.
I look in your eyes, and you say, "Let me help."
The color comes back, the chains loosen, and my bones fix themselves.
You pick up my heart, and stitch it up, and place it where it belongs.
I can breathe. I feel better, the pain is gone.
I stand and face you. Your arms reach around my waist, and my hands cling to your neck. I softly whisper, "You saved me."
