I am the monster inside

I am the monster inside

A Poem by William Rowdon
"

Just something that came to mind in between classes.

"
It devours me
Eats my insides, chips away at my core
Not passion but desire
Not need but greed
A greed for power
A lust for strength
A monster that dwells deep inside

I know it's evil
But I feed it
Fueled by my hate
Strengthened by my envy
And I revel in its power

It awakens me in the morning
Hardens my resolve in belief
Chills my sense against depression
And it taints my very soul

I am the monster inside
I reap what I sow
Trust no one like the demon commands
I am the monster inside
