Strive

Strive

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

Reap a little happiness

Sow a little smile

Find a partner

To regale

With tales of then and now

Together

An abomination

And yet we strive to be

Polarising objects

Never meant, were we

Guide me softly from your path

To the fullness of your laugh

Never a more peaceful sight

Than a heart left alone

in the dead of night
