Empty

Empty

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

On we forge,

Seldom reflecting

Absent of thought

Is this life

Or just a trial

Is this real

Or imagination

Your eyes

See fate and consequence

Reminisce

Learn

Yet, on we forge

Eyes closed

Heart locked

Ears deaf

Tomorrow there is a lesson

But too late for us

Teach

Inspire

We'll walk this lifetime

With future in our thoughts

They'll learn the lessons

Some worth for the truth we sought
