Feathers

Feathers

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

Around her body, feathers

Of white and gold and black

A picture of her lifetime

Of all that she lacks

Lover of the starlight

Seeker of the moons

A change of the tide has cometh

Welcomed far too soon

Daughter of salvation

Child of heavy price

I seek a resolution

With every roll of dice

On and and on it goes

It raps upon your door

The passing of a legacy

Let angels hit the floor

This is one of those works that’s open to interpretation. I like how it comes together, like a prophetic massage a shedding what is old in order reach a new dimension in where the angels lay to rest. a transformation from life to death and then life.
Excellent write.

.
. a stupendous poem of a pained soul's prayer for hope ... and i identify with it completely ... it's when one touches rock bottom that the only way to go ... is upwards ... plus ... i always learn from your control on brevity and excellent choice of words ...
