Winter

Winter

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

I have seen the stars

Love letters in their hands

A promise of a future

Yet, no solace have they planned

As the first dove flew

Along the winter came

No flake of similarity

To ease the midnight pain

The chorus rose

To meet the sleepy dawn

Glisten sweet upon the heart of souls

The battle torn

The stars sent their letters

And so the sun must lie

Upon another winters evening

With ever watching eye.

TAO
Cheryl J Turner, this a very a good poem. Am I mistaken at just the slightest hint of darkness to it? It's like being lost, I think... At least, that's what it feels like. Needless to say, you've written an excellent piece, here.
