Dream

Dream

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

As the sun falls to slumber

And the moon reaches peak

I know you will think of me

Dream as you sleep

Shallow graves weigh your mind

I shall shelter wisdom

I shall praise knowledge

I crave acceptance

Gain access to my heart

Earn the freedom of my soul

Great lover of stars

Loose tongue of man

I feel the attraction

But I am what I am

I love the last line of this poem and I love the scene you paint before my eyes with these crafty words.

This is excellent. It is mystifies, then indulges, then mystifies again. I read it three times and each time, I liked it more. Very nice addition to your poetry!
