The curse of the writer

The curse of the writer

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

Woe to the curse of the writer

Whose speech is tattered and torn

Make way for the socially repugnant

The melancholy and forlorn

What wretch have they cast upon us

A mute with a wicked fast pen

Speak not a word vile creature

Yet, write one million and ten

Woe to the curse of the writer

Who cannot say a word

Her stupidity doth proceed her

As no intelligence have we heard

Great meter here, a real poet in every way. Here you express thoughts and feelings so many would be writers think/feel .. we try, we succeed somehow; we try another time to emulate the greats and in our own minds - we fail hopelessly.

Writing can be heaven or hell and just occasionally we stand with a foot in both places.

I like this. Our muses sometimes inspire us some much all we want to do is write and then at other times the words within our minds are silent and it drives us crazy. The curse of a writer is a great line.

I like this. It does seem that many writers are more comfortable with pen and keyboard then with speech.
