Understanding beauty

Understanding beauty

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

http://lttf06.podbean.com/mf/web/gkcda5/Understandingbeauty.mp3

There is pain in your beauty

A melancholy smile

Your eyes say disaster

Your face will wait a while

Design needs some perspective

I haven't had the time

Let me sit and dwell a while

Before mountains toe the line

Come and sit with me

In leaves of golden brown

And there in the shade

I shall release you of your frown

Rage not, my love

For we will have our day

Your eyes will see

And then, in daisies, we shall sway

It is meant

Of that I am sure

Contain your reaction

Later, there is more

The words are very thoughtful, and your recorded reading is very good. I think it begins splendidly, but then the rhythm seems to go awry. I don't think you're done with this yet. It is seeking perfection and that goal seems in sight.
The other aspect that puzzles me is, I'm not really sure about what "mountains toe the line" means. Nevertheless, this has immense possibilities!

. i had to come back and read this and thank you for it ... i have lost too much to the rage of others ... physically and mentally ... frequently and brutally ... you're so profound ... this is needed by one and all ...

I like the acceptance, realization and Hope in it.

Timely reminder that beauty is an abiding patience and grace most of all.

It remains strange how convincing pained moods are too, considering it all shifts like the weather.

"Come and sit with me/In leaves of golden brown/And there in the shade/I shall release you of your frown"

A lovely companionable autumn comfort.

Amazing. We all have wounds from the shattered pieces of glass in our souls. When people connect despite of that and offer too soothe one another's wounds that is when reality becomes poetry. Excellent work

Beauty creates so many wonderful feelings - love, caring, sharing, giving .. and your words display all those and more, as you write, ' Later, there is more'

But the words that really touched me are, 'And there in the shade~ I shall release you of your frown' - wonderful, wonder full.
