Power of the tide

Power of the tide

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

I barely remember

It's more like a dream

A vague recollection

Of the way that I scream

Details suffocated, long ago

It's better that way

As they would all know

Have you ever felt,

The power of the tide

The change in direction

Strength at your side

I see my reflection

The lines on my face

Each, tell a story

Of lies, my disgrace

Yet bitterness left here a long time ago

Replaced with a wisdom

That, with time, will grow

Have you ever felt,

The power of the tide

The change in direction

Strength at your side.

I love this whole poem.

I see my reflection
The lines on my face
Each, tell a story
Of lies, my disgrace
Yet bitterness left here a long time ago
Replaced with a wisdom
That, with time, will grow

I love how this goes from being almost and into being replaced with wisdom. i love the ending of this poem. it ties up everything in the rest of this poem.

This is incredible! I love this poem. it is so hopeful, yet realistic. I love the line that you repeated and I think it is perfect that you did that. Great job!!

Nicely written. And I started into it thinking washing detergent. You made that misconception disappear in a flash.
