Why

Why

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner
"

A recent family crisis inspired this piece...

"

I scream my whys at you

Receive less than silence

Only pain

My family torn

Who is to blame

Research yields only death

Fear

Ignorance is bliss

There is no moral to this story

No reason to this rhyme

Why send us here to serve our time

Without knowledge of our previous crime

Retreat

Ceasefire

For our sake or yours

What sense is this

A test of patience

A lesson to learn

Darkness envelope me

I do not wish to see

There are many directions I could with this piece, but what I see here is life and I’m always left with the question why. What done is done, we can’t go backwards we can only move forward sitting idle is not an option. For me you’ve describe the many things we face when trying to find a solution to a problem. Excellent write.

the questions are legitimate; they're just going out, instead of in
