I change

I change

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

I am afraid

Of being alone

Responsibility

Knocking doors

Ticking clocks

Alarms that ring

I run

From commitment

Happiness

Hope

Love

Things that are right

I destroy

All that I want

All that I love

All that is mine

I change

For the sake of my future

For the love of my children

For the life that I want,

The love that I need
