My something

My something

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

I have been thinking, oh darling of mine

I want the world

I want more, Bring me stars

Bring me the gold of giants

Diamonds from the deepest depths of the earth

Jewels of every shape, in colours that eyes have never before seen

If you love me wouldn't these be things of ease

Where is my everything

I will not settle for an anything

Perhaps a something would do

A thought just occurred, my love

I want passion

I want more, bring me lust

Bring me the desire of a million men

Bring me pleasure in mountainous quantity

Deep embrace, never to end

Hot sweaty connection, to share with no other

If you love me wouldn't these be things of ease

Where is my everything

I will not settle for an anything

Perhaps a something will do

The cogs have been whirring, Oh sweetness

I want you

I want more, bring me your presence

Bring me your shoulder on nights filled with tears

Bring me love unconditional

An ear, that never tires of listening

A true love, that I have never felt before

I hope there's a tune to this; if not, pity. The best bit for me is:
"Where is my everything

I will not settle for an anything

Perhaps a something would do"

A pleasure to read, congrats.

wow! when u find a man who will do all this, please send his brother my way... :)
But seriously- this is good writing- I thought I was the only one who wanted all that. But, you can hang the diamonds- I don't care about them, but LOVE- that is what I want- just to be loved and someone who will let me love them back. It seems like everyone wants the same thing, so why is love so difficult and complicated? why are there so many selfish people? I like how your poem is set up, also. Great job!

A lovely piece of writing with that especially feminine longing for the lover to surrender all, that we guys so often resist...! The structure is so good, with the three stanzas and the chorus - and the three states - the romantic longing for gifts of gold, the physical desire for the passion of love-making, the serenity and security of a presence to hold and lean on for comfort...

It was beautiful... I would surrender!
