Invisible

Invisible

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

There is a path

A path I walk

Its way is littered with a thousand pink petals

A symbol perhaps

A sign of the time

Oh, fragrance. Such beauty, soft memory

There is a path

On which I tread

Not a trace of my walk do I leave behind

Being invisible

Such a lonely talent

I scream silence to your ear

No reply

Nor echo within your heart

There is a path

Where I have been

Dancing in moonlight, laughing as love walks by

Just one wish, have I

I long to be seen

I live for that dream.

I like very much the gentle longing that infuses this poem, the image of the lonely walker treading the path where the petals of love are strewn, where she may lose herself dancing under the moon but still alone... with that shy wish to find the touch of her dream... It had a beauty and a poignancy about it, enhanced by the simple language and well-chose images..
