The words that you won't say.

The words that you won't say.

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

I can't help but listen

To the words that you won't say

I can't help but feel

When you don't look at me that way

I see the emotion that really isn't there

I shed an almost tear, I believe you care

I've started to wander, because I can't help but wonder

If love is even there

It's hard to know, it's hard to tell

When talking to thin air

I can't help but listen

To the hateful words you say

I can't help but feel

When you shout at me that way

I've started to wander, because it's hard not to wonder

If the love was ever there

If you will ever care.

Sounds like a song to me. Left a tune in my head.

why would you stand for even a moment in front of hateful words, or a shout...what is there to wonder about...who would care if this person cares...when will you see that...
