If you love me...

If you love me...

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

If you love me, Show me

Take me dancing under a blanket of stars

Lie with me to feel the summer breeze

Listen to the shadows

If you love me, Follow

Come with me of an evening

We'll smell the air of a recent sunset

Grow dizzy from the bliss of togetherness

If you love me, Feel

Caress not just body but mind and soul

Merge with me

Let us be one

If you love me, Desire

Bathe in my devotion

Never to let me go

Show possession and need

If you love me, Speak

Spin sonnets of gold

Sing me a lullaby

Endless conversation

If you love me, Want

Be mine forevermore

Commit yourself to us

Lay your heart to rest with mine

If you love me, Love me.

Wow I can't imagine just how truly ideal the person who would agree with all these conditions in love. This poem is very expressive and demanding. It's a compelling read. I enjoyed it.

Keep Writing. ^___^

Written with intensity and charm, you use natural imagery well to create the romantic atmosphere - the 'blanket of stars', 'the summer breeze', the sunset... and the pretty conceit of spinning 'sonnets of gold' struck me... Pleasing in its emotional delight..
