Wash of beauty

Wash of beauty

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

He was a lonely man

and never without pain

a lone tear would escape

as he burned in the fires again

He wandered far and wide

He swam with sharks through great oceans

He dabbled with demons along vast deserts

He was searching for the answers

to questions that he lacked

Then we did meet

With one touch his pain does flee

Just for a moment

when he is with me

I see his eyes close

I hear his heart beat

A peace he's never known

a wash of beauty

She was a lonely woman

and never without pain

a lone tear does escape

as she burns in the fires again

She did not wander

She lay in defeat

'til along came her saviour

She heard his heart beat

Just one touch and pain subsides

He watches her eyes close

A peace she's never known

A wash of beauty

From his touch alone
