WallsA Poem by Cheryl J. TurnerThe walls hold the answers but they're keeping them from me They listen when you cry at night They hear each secret sigh Every touch has a witness They watched as we said goodbye Voyeurs into all our lives They live to stand and observe Yet never comment at all They only live to serve What horrors they must have seen and to never interfere What a life to be a wall it is To stand throughout the years Stability of emotion, cold and hard to touch Great knowledge and understanding A view from far away Detached and alone each and every day No envy planted here it's only pity I feel Yet the walls hold the answers and they're keeping them from me.
