You and love and me

You and love and me

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

Gentle chime of piano keys play upon my heart

your words have never been sweeter

than now as you look at me

In my arms you shall lay

and I will gaze with wonder

asking all that will listen

What I have done to deserve such perfection

Life will never be bitter

I shall feel no pain

My lover is in my arms

Taking away all of my rain

And as you sing your gentle tune

I shall sing along

My heart will swell to bursting point

Love will break the banks

leaving puddles of emotion in it's wake

What a life we'll have together

Just you and love and me

I like this poem. I like that's its inbetween long and short, two stanzas would normally be considered short but the length of them add to it. It just makes it seem perfect to me, the feelings aren't over embellished. It was simple and to the point, and yet the words make it so much more than just simple. They make it beautiful, and one of a kind. Great job, I enjoyed this, my only critic being - I wish I wrote it.

Keep Writing,
Melissa
