Wisdom in a paper cup

Wisdom in a paper cup

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner
"

I do not describe, let imaginations roll.

"

Lets sit for a while

I'll talk of things you've never seen

Hand you wisdom in a paper cup

For I have seen great mountains move

I have watched a weary woman's dying breath

I have seen babies born and their mothers cry

I have seen pain etched into a lovers face

and felt the rapture of experiences, new.

I have spent many a day waiting for the sun to set

and then sat watching again as it rose from its slumber

I have shouted, I have laughed, I have spoken, they have listened

I've felt lust, I have felt pain, I've felt anger, I have been insane

I have broken ties and battled disease

I have beaten my demons, I set myself free

I have been lost within my own mind

I have felt great, deep and powerful needs

This wisdom falls short of a lifetime achievement

and perhaps you've more experience than I

For love is your legacy, lest we forget

and I stand alone,

Alone with regret

Yep. Morning cup is the well from which we draw inspiration sometimes. Sometimes our memories flow wave on wave.

Wonderful write--
