Wonder

Wonder

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

Wonder is a lonesome thing

I wonder, do you notice me

I wander along the stony paths

I have been waiting for your attentions

and though he is back again

It is you that I have been waiting for

and it is you that seems so repulsed by my very essence

Oh, to know just what you were thinking

What manner of curse or blessing would it be

Just to remove the element of wonder

What glorious times we would share

as I wander through your mind

and you would yeild to me

Wonder is a lonesome thing

and I wonder will you see?

I would like to say that your poem wonder is simply wonderful (sorry for the cheap pun but I really do feel so). This is very well written, expresses your emotions perfectly, and it is an intriguing read to say the least. Thank you for sharing this good piece of writing. Very nicely done. --Broken Soul

Unreturned love and loneliness. I like the way it is, sad but well written enough not to make the reader.

Very nice poem. The many wonders of wonder. I wonder if you know how good it is? Ha, It's Kind of sad as you contemplate someone else's mind for their lack of desire and the reasons therein. I think it's great.

Wonder may be a lonesome thing, but it's big cousin, Hope, is what sets us free and keep us wondering. A nice job of capturing the obviously unrequited, unnoticed desire for another.
