Hide and Seek

Hide and Seek

A Poem by Frontier
"

After a long, long streak of not having anything to write....I'm back...

"
I just wanna go back to
playing hide and seek
with everything in the world.
So busy, what keeps them
so busy, busybodies

That phrase "as above so below"
in a waiting room
between the soul and the spirit,
yet every morning we find
the water's still boiling

The trace of smoothness,
erosion eyes, on the outside
looking in, the word
made flesh, an insomniac
that is always sleeping

Kids know that what
lies under their beds is...

"May I walk you home"

"Do you know the way out of here?"

Kids ripping apart
their Christmas presents,
and the adults,
I think they're
burning bridges

An omen
O'men, o men
I am so there
where I am,
so there,
Where I am,
everybody sleeps in the same room

To be parallel today
eyes containing an
underground city,
supernatural selection

even boiling water is ok as long as it is tuned off before the fire starts( hope you fared well through the hurricane , the hurricane that caused Trump to throw paper towels to the estranged homeless residents

I liked the way it ended. Made me have to go back and reread it. Great stuff!

thanks, long time :)
This is fantastic! You're a great story teller my friend! Captivating and original, which is hard to do these days. Love this back an forth between what seems to be two separate stories, just fantastic!

thank you so much Inda! wow its been FOREVER ive last logged in :)
I found this stanza fascinating.

That phrase "as above so below"
in a waiting room
between the soul and the spirit,
yet every morning we find
the water's still boiling

I know you have a philoshcal bend to your heart, so this really drew me in. So above, so below, yet boiling water, that seems like a transition, from water to steam, from cold to hot, from still to bubbling.

Really great way to make the abstract concrete, and something to ponder on.

The o'men o'men made me think of Amens, but in reverese! esp considering the Xmas undertones, christ, etc.

liked the phrase 'erosion eyes' though the grammarian in me wants to change it to 'eroded eyes', but erosion implies a process, not description, so yeah, I can see that (pun intended).

Kids ripping apart
their Christmas presents,
and the adults,
I think they're
burning bridges

Paints the holiday in less festive and more violent manner, and one can probably link it to violent commercialism, and by one, I mean me :)

Supernatural selection also makes one pause. How would ghosts and the such weed out the weak from the strong?

It's a startling idea. I like your ideas.

Glad you're back.

the waiting room between the soul and spirit is the only thing that really clicked with me in this piece of writing. But to me, is was a huge click, and I tip my hat to you for penning that. the rest...?
