My mere fate

My mere fate

A Poem by Frontier
"

Another "found poem" using excerpts from Robinson Crusoe and the "Poetic Edda", oral Lit. from Iceland from 1000-1300 BC.

"
My mere fate
went from the isle
for her lover's flight. In this state
of life, that evil influence,
unmaly thy soul must seem,
so I pulled off my clothes
and took to the water,
old tales should ne'er be told

I liked the title and the story in the poetry. A perfect ending to a tale of fate. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

interesting that you use bits from other things, kind of like a cut up method, is enjoyable to read your interpretation of the words.

I think I would prefer your words and your thoughts telling your story this time... you have a fresh way of expressing your "voice" and it deserves to be heard.

Someone I know once told me a story how at a beach party, fearing her boyfriend was interested in someone else, began to walk into the ocean. Her intention was never to return, but she also wanted him to notice. To save her. Claim her. He never did. It was a story I thought at the time the most beautiful, and sad I ever heard. It will always stick with me.

Your exquisite piece, reminded me of it.
