Ways

A Poem by Frontier

Why shouldn't I say
that I have
imaginary friends
I never really
went with the
trends

In the classroom
in the classroom
I'm hungry for...
the way in
is
the way out

Tightrope walking,
here everything
points to,
souls departed

shifting, gifting
monument of sighs
stepping in a
theater of feathers,
a presence like
the last stroke
of a piano

You are
black and white
and done

You are
black and white
and gone

The ghost fleet
has begun

I wanted to read more, I don't know if you can continue about this ghost... but it reminds me a lot of those days when my silent imagery friend was lurking beside me and accompanied me most of time!

I believe I can...may show up in my future writes..so keep tuning in! Thanks.
That ending especially brought a smile to my face; may I suggest 'spectral fleet' instead of ghost? it seems more natural since it is an adjective. Other than that, I enjoyed the feelings that this gave off. I honestly never had an imaginary friend, but sometimes I felt that I myself was an imaginary friend to some invisible persona of my own creation... trippy I know! I don't think there is anything inherently wrong in questioning the reality which everyone wants us to conform to.

bingo Paul!
Lots of ideas and insights you've packed into this one...I'm not sure if I'm on the mark, but for me, this put me in mind of the education system, which essentially makes us all generic and offers hardly any leeway for individual growth or evolution of personal ideas...it also reminded me of how the value of imaginary friends offset the friendship I never did get from my real classmates...I wasn't particularly fond of school, or the people I went to school with haha...personally thought, I like this piece as it is...your imagery is unique and always lends itself to interpretation without taking away from the writer's own vision...well done as always my friend :)

Thanks John :)
Stepping out to the beat of a different drummer only makes us unique, besides those imagery friends will never betray you or let you down....quirky and enjoyable.

Indeed they won't, haha. Thanks Frieda :)
The last three verses are incredibly dreamy. The light overtone of the poem is swept and engulfed in them. A real pretty piece of work.

Thanks for your interesting input, :)
It’s easy to drift off into an imaginary world during most classroom sessions. I was inspired to write this gift poem for you:

Classroom Ghosts

But it’s ghosts we love the most,
not white chalk upon the black.
To all ghosts, we give a toast,
not those teachers on our back.

Love it! Thanks Aethereal :)
imaginary friends never let you down...others can come and go...and what we learn in the classroom is often black and white...wrong and write...
but we know there is much gray area in between...and that is where those imaginary friends live.
