This is a piece with something for everyone...you have packed so many images and scenarios into your expressed insecurities that it's virtually impossible to see ourselves in at least some of these stanzas...the wordplay that powers each metaphor is packed with an ominous kind of wit that I don't see very often...this is an amazingly crafted piece, one that makes it hard to quote specific parts (though I never like doing that anyway)...many of them are addressed to a singular person, which had me putting all of these metaphors together in my mind and coming with one predominant fear: a fear of not being accepted for being yourself, or a fear of not being accepted for your imperfections in spite of the fact that we all have them...this poem spoke volumes to me and had me wishing that I could present these images with such linguistic creativity...one of my favourites from your catalogue...great work Frontier.

So glad that you enjoy my insights...always a pleasure my friend :)
mike tyson said "that sometime fear comes to warm the room", then he went forth to knock
other men senseless. Perhaps being afraid is the only emotion that you cant misinterpred
as something else. It is terror, trepidation and some painful agitation all clumped together
in one giant ball..This is a love poem. One where you wish, more than anything , that the
amplified broadcast signal of it has been transmitted carefully:
"it would be scary if you saw me
as a virgin of everything
that means something
in this choking world"
We who write poetry in the 21st century must re-evaluate the role of woman in romantic relationships
not just as excited pursuit or tragic doom makers. But also, as you have suggested, as sensitive
and equal partners capable of passion, vulnerability and aesthetic responses
I like this writing style.
well done. dana

I love the vulnerability in this. The feeling of lacking even the fundamental things that make us human is something I can relate to. The metaphors are all well played and easily understood and the feelings you portrayed are potent.

"seems like plagiarism of something you've never read before"
what a great line....all of the similes and metaphors here enhance the theme of being so afraid that we will disappoint...and yes, sometimes life is not fair...and we do hide our face...but eventually we will regain the spirit... rather than having "reactions with no feelings" or vice-versa.
your poetry is astonishing in its depth...and what you do with your words, and your specifically good short lines.
