i see this probably a different way...in the company of other poets, some living, some ghosts...and i feel a strong reference in here to both dickinson and plath...
dickinson in terms of "i heard a fly buzz when i died"
and sylvia with many of her references to death and suicide in her poetry...
there is both peace and camaraderie in existing on this plane with others of our kind.
poets are a funny bunch...on websites they tend to have vicious battles and tear each other down, when the reality should be that they support each other and party together, because who else understands us so well?
This one paused me...
not because I merely understood
- I've lived that path.
Well said.

I learned how to listen to people because I wasn't heard. But few tell you the good - ya know? So much that's "off" and the hurts... the wrongs. We aren't all that removed from spirits - what ARE we but the cumulative memory of others.
They talk with "disembodied" occurences every wednesday night on syfy's Ghost Hunting Shows... who am I to argue with such highly paid and recognized talent and network professionals?
This poem gives me the feeling that the great masters of the past are coming to life again as their work is read. I like how you break away from the modern idea that poetry is a dead craft. That's why I like the third and fourth lines of your second stanza.
I also read Jacob's review, and I found myself nodding in agreement, because I can see this one going in that direction as well.
I totally agree with him about existing as a member of a poetic comminity. When you have a healthy one, built on constructively building each other, truly bueautiful work is the result. The cafe can be that kind if place sometimes. I experienced the joy of communing with other poets on here last summer, and it was a truly wonderful period, thanks to writers such as Jacob.
Well done here. I hope to read more of you soon.

You're welcome. I agree, and I'm glad that you are one of the people keeping it alive.
