Looking for Angels

She stares at me with her dark eyes 

intensity scorning my soul 

if only I could greet her 

but my eyes look to the floor 

and I try to pretend she's not there 

She won't go away you know 

a little voice whispers 

so I look for a while 

and find a little girl crying 

and holding a battered old teddy and

 a shiny blood stained knife 

she's alone and looks scared 

she screams when I try to engage with my eyes 

I feel helpless

unable to know what to do

Hello I say what is your name 

at this point she stabs the teddy repeatedly

with eyes of fear and darkness 

she's hurting so much 

she's left and gone to another world 

I feel a feeling in my tummy 

couldn't tel you what it was 

I feel I have let her down 

I guess I feel the shame of that 

I just wish someone could help her 

she needs a light 

an angel 

an angel from another world 

to comfort her and stay with her always 

never leave her side 

stay with her though every season 

"no human could help"

 angels angels everywhere 

hear my prayer

bring light on my skins 

heal my haunted soul

and take me with you 

protected lovingly in your wings 

forever together 

and never alone..
