Fully Hollow

Fully Hollow

A Poem by Alex

I.
Dented Can;
Sour Spoiled Milk.
“We are the Hollow Men”
Battered, Broken, Bruised.
Tainted
Damaged goods.
--Unwanted items 50% off in the Clearance Isle--

II.
Cellophane, Cellophane
Tell me what you see!
I see nothing staring back.
That reflection is not me
.
Are you sure dear Cellophane?
The reflection looks like you.
I see nothing where you stand.
The reflection must be true.

III.
Red velveteen cascading down
Ivory marble fountains.
Quenching momentary thirst;
Hunger pangs twice as fierce as before.
Sin on sin sweetly sighing.

IV.
She needs.
He wants.
Neither will have what they desire,
For the other never gets what they need.
Separately together;
Together and hollow.
Water on fire;
Ice to Desire.

V.
“You are not a hopeless case”
Tell that to my heart.
